Tree with grey wood; leaves oblanceolate, red and erect when young; flowers pink, fragrant, terminal, solitary; fruits ovoid, beaked, woody, indehiscent carpels.

Distribution :    Fairly common in evergreen forests.

Uses :  stipule used as silague, used in acidity and tooth and gum problems.
