Perennial herb with radical leaves; leaves ovate-oblong, obtuse, entire or sinuate toothed, subcoriaceous; flowers in spikes; seeds angled, blackish, rugose.

Distribution :    Common along roadside and in open places.

Uses :  Leaves used in cuts wounds as haemostatic; seeds used as diaphoretic and diuretic.
