Perennial, glabrous, strongly aromatic, erect herb; leaves petiolate, acute or obtuse at the base, coarsely serrate, ovate; inflorescence terminal spike; flowers small.

Distribution : Common, cultivated.

Uses :  Leaves used in flatulence, loss of appetite, vomiting and diarrhea.
