Shrub; leaves stipulate, ovate, acuminate, serrate; flowers solitary, axillary, crimson, bracteoles linear-lanceolate.

Distribution   :  Cultivated as ornamental plant in the gardens.

Uses    :  Bark used to remove dandruf; leaves used in gonorrhoea, menorrhagia haemorrhage and asthma.
