Perennial herb with fleshy rhizome; rhizome pale yellow in colour; stem leafy, soft; leaves radical, alternate, with a ligule at junction of blade and sheath; flowers in lateral spike. Distribution : Usually occurring wild, occasionally grown. Uses : Rhizome used in tonsillitis. |
