Large shrub or small tree with grayish-white bark; leaves aromatic, oblong-lanceolate, coriaceous; flowers white, in raceme; capsules ovoid, obscurely three-lobed.

Distribution :    Common throughout the state.

Uses :  Stem bark used in post natal diarrhoea.
