Stout annual shruby grass; clums erect, rooting at nodes; leaves lanceolate, glabrous, ligule obsolete; caryopsis ovoid-globose, whitish with horny involucre.

Distribution : Wild, commonly found in marshy areas.

Uses : Roots used in lumbago.
